Saturday morning I woke up to the smell of coffee. It was 9am. I went downstairs and found Daughter sitting at the dining table going through her receipts. I castigated her for sitting in the gloom and turned the overhead light on for her.

I sat there at the table with her and drank my three cups of coffee. After my coffee I washed the dishes that were in the sink and went back upstairs to start my reading. Not much different than my usual routine except for the addition of some delightful morning conversation.

We only got a dusting of snow Saturday, not the predicted two to five inches. Can’t complain about that. Liam Dog and I did go out for a walk in the afternoon though, just because we could. Always a good thing to do.

So yeah, I get online this morning and find that David Bowie has died. A fantastic artist in many genres and good at all of them. A very sad day.

I’ve watched a few good movies since my last entry. I watched “The Hunting Ground”, which reinforces Krakauer’s latest book; “The Martian”, which I think followed Weir’s book fairly accurately; and “Joy”, which I thought was great and proves once again that Jennifer Lawrence is the real deal.

And I’ve figured out the “Downton Abbey” deal. There are only six seasons. I’ve watched them all. Apparently I’ve been watching links from Britain. PBS here in the States is a season behind. I started to watch the first episode S6E1 on PBS and found that I’d already seen it. Bummer. All in all the show ended in a logical place. The end of an era.

I have no idea what to watch next. I guess I’ll just have to wait until I stumble upon another title.

Anyway, I’ve got a book to read and dishes to wash.
