travis cake grandfather talking scott alexandra gifts. infinity scarves hats. sachiko appt. in yes i'm aware it's 2016.

right so on xmas er i mean xmas eve rather I met my mom’s new tenant Travis. i think he’s about 40. I don’t know anything about him other than wow he’s a nice guy. I’ve only met him the one time but wow. oh so after we had xmas ‘dinner’ my sister, dad & I went up to his place and gave him some of the cake my sister had made. and then we went back to my mom’s. er xmas eve ‘dinner’ rather.
So my grandfather talks.like a lot. he talked for like 2, 3 damn hrs. in the kitchen. to my aunt. omygod. it’s like please just leave already. and then he came into the living room to watch tv w/ us and i’m like oh no please no more talking.
So my mom got 3 gifts from Scott & Alexandra their neighbors across the way. She got.a glitter candle. my mom as i’ve mentioned doesn’t like glitter.but i do. So........um. oh she also got a horseshoe and she didn’t know what it was for and I told her ‘it’s for good luck’. according to my aunt who’s traveled a lot [well. when she was a foreign service officer she traveled as part of her job] and is intelligent and educated told her that some people like maybe the germans [i think so cause Scott & Alexandra are from Germany. well she is anyway i’ve never met him that i remember. she’s a nice lady chatty. she’s like 48] put them [horseshoes] in walls not upside down so the luck doesn’t fall out. and they [my parents] also got these new yr.’s fortune cards.
oh yeah so from valerie [my mentor valerie valerie n.] I got one of those infinity scarves. which untill i tried it on I didn’t realise i actually do like them. But I feel more trapped in them then the non infinity scarves. it’s a beautiful color it’s this dark purple. but the thing is it’s dry clean only which i didn’t know untill I looked at the label and i don’t dry clean things. well i mean i have but I generally don’t make a habit of it. oh I also got an infinity scarf from the lady being the lady i’m living w/. I don’t know if I mentioned that or not. The colors are gray and green neither of which i’m big on. I wonder if that’s also dry clean only. i’ll look. I also got a hat from them [oh ‘them’ being her & her husband] a black indiana jones western type. But the thing is the hat band is attached to the hat ant on that there’s that little piece that goes up and down but. thing is [again] that that little piece is attached to the hat band which means.that i’m not able to put a pen in there. and I’ve recently started putting pens [well ok a pen] in the hat band of my well, hat as i really don’t like um digging through my purse for a pen. So I might take it to a milliner and see what they can do about that. yeah so anyway.
I was expecting something small from them like a gift card which well that would’ve made my day too.
Right so then........after my mom & I got back from my appt. last wk. we ran into their other tenant Sachiko [sp? i don’t know the correct spelling]. She’s been living there for at least 10 yrs. She’s really nice she’s from Japan and still has an accent. She’s the last of their orig. tenants. I didn’t know who she was for a sec as it was dark and also I don’t generally talk to people. i’m not a v. neighborly person at all or friendly really. She said hi to me and i’m like ‘oh sorry i didn’t know who it was for a sec’ and she’s like ‘oh that’s ok’ and i’m ‘thank you for the cookies’ as she’s made us xmas cookies the last like, 3 yrs. she’s a really nice lady.
