charleston lizards race. african dances. barcelona babies. latkes coke water. xmas eve service. xmas gifts. in yes i'm aware it's 2016.

right so like i said. On Tues. the 22nd my mom & I had lunch w/ a former neighbor of hers and her mom Valerie V. [my mentor’s also ‘valerie’ so]. So the neighbor currently lives in Charleston [SC] also. like i said. Well once when her mom was visiting her she [her mom that is] was outside talking to someone and her daughter’s like ‘awww Mom’s made a new friend how nice’. no turns out her mom was talking to a lizard. yeah no new friends just lizards. however apparently the people are quite friendly down there which is another reason i don’t want to go since i.don’t like friendly people. That’s one thing I really like/d about London is how reserved everyone is. not that it’s perfect there i just didn’t see its unfavorable side. um so the neighbor’s at her place like showering and her semi-friends just drop in for lunch or w/e. and at first that was so weird to her. like ‘hey we can have dinner later but um i’m kindof having a private moment here’. but now she expects it.
And so the other reason I don’t want to go to charleston that much is bc apparently they’re racist down there. well some of them are. sorry i shouldn’t generalise. She’s a perfectly lovely person but some of the people down there don’t like her bc she’s white. i mean i guess it helps to know that if i were to go down there and they didn’t like me it wouldn’t be specific to me it’s white people in general.well for some of them.
so i guess in.somewhere maybe Charleston they have these African dances. and the people er ‘the people’ i mean the dancers have like leopard hats or w/e on. and though that wouldn’t mean much to me/us it’s like ‘you want to wear your leopard hat.ok cool. I don’t know what that means but it means something to you so ok’. I think that’s why i’m not big on ‘the lion king’. I like the music and the set’s cool but I don’t relate to it. For one I didn’t grow up in Africa. For another I’m not a guy. But it reminds me of that one scene in ‘glee’ where the gay guy’s performing and after he’s done his dad’s like ‘well........i don’t know what that means but that was a helluva performance and it’s who you are’. and now i realise. that was so great just.wow.
[oh also. the humour in ‘the lion king’ is for children. i don’t like that kindof humour. and i don’t like it when children sing esp. when they’re bad at it. yeah they.needed work on it in the production we saw].
Yeah so my former neighbor she lived in Spain in college for a bit in Barcelona. and um. so she was telling me a story about how this one time when she was on the subway this mom threw like actually threw her baby at her..........which i thought was so weird untill she explained it. No see it’s a tourist thing. See when the neighbor was holding the baby the mom was going to jack her stuff. yeah so that’s interesting.
right so at........Zaidy’s i had 3 big latkes. w/ sour cream. it’s a Greek place. my sister & my aunt ate at another table. oh i also had soda. as i don’t like water.
Right so on xmas eve we went to the.xmas eve service at my grandfather’s new church. it was i mean it was ok. Part of it’s that it seemed more somber than the services I’d gone to in the past and part of it was that the lighting by the ceiling was dark and made some of the ceiling look gray. They had a tv on which they put the words of the um songs. i liked that. I knew we were going to sing ‘silent night’ at some point and so when my mom & grandfather stood I also stood which apparently I wasn’t supposed to do which my sister notified me of. and then i sat back down. so that was embarassing. I pay more attention to the lit candle [oh we have lit candles during that song] than anything. also i don’t like that song. it reminds me of rape and the movie ‘the changeling’. the eastwood one. not that that song played in a part in any of my rapes but just the lyrics of it.
So right xmas gifts. From my sister I got a mix which I’ve not yet listened to and thick socks which seem warm. My aunt gave me Amazon gift cards and this cool bird card ww/ a record on it.like you know a vinyl. not an actual one. I couldn’t tell who it was from as I have trouble making out cursive and it was written in cursive and so she’s like ‘that’s from me if you couldn’t tell’. My sister gave me another gift and on each of the wrapped gifts there was a label and on it it said that it was from her but she kept telling me ‘that’s from me’ yeah i know. oh my aunt also gave me an inflatable crown.like the kind that the royals wear not the other kind the dental kind.so that was fun.
Oh my sister gave me a glitter card which i quite like/d.my mom.does not like glitter. um my dad gave me a blue glass elephant. i love elephants and i collect them. The box it came in was super cool. i forgot what my mom gave me untill i brought it up to her. she’d given me itunes gift cards. which is funny cause i of course buy songs from itunes and turn them into mixes for people like.my mom. so really she’s giving herself a gift. well not that i ‘have’ to do that [well no i know i don’t ‘have’ to] but I want to. like ‘hey so here’s more itunes so you can make me cds’. ok. kindof funny. um oh also from my dad I got a shirt from Cuba. it says ‘cuba’ on it and there’s a star on it. i gave my mom 2 cds but forgot the playlist for one. I gave my sister 2 cds and my dad one which apparently was a big hit he thanked me twice. well i didn’t think it’d go over that well but ok. oh i also gave them all poems i’d written. the one i gave my dad made him cry a bit which i thought it would. it involved/involves Littleton which is where his mom’s from and he grew up and she left us in Oct. so........yeah anyway. I gave my aunt and everyone else candy canes and those Hershey’s peppermint candies those dudes are good. My mom got 2 pairs of socks. she likes socks.me too. oh my dad gave her a drawing of a shirt on wrapping paper for like REI or whoever for their after xmas sale. and i’m like ‘and now he gave you art’. My sister who cooks got a um. like they’re these soft oh they’re these quilted bags for you to carry your cooking items back and forth.in. but they don’t have handles. when I asked about that my sister thought i said ‘candles’. and no they don’t have those either. Oh so my mom gave my dad a new phone but she’d forgotten it was in her name so she’s like ‘um why is there an extra gift here w/ my name on it?’. oh that’s why ok. um i don’t remember what else my aunt got. I liked the disney parade.
So.............oh on xmas eve in my room at my mom’s I gave my sister the..........um. the drawing I’d made for her. it’s modeled after a Matisse the one of the nude lady on the sofa for those familiar w/ his work. the nude lady. I’d put it in a box and then wrapped the box in 2 kinds of wrapping paper cause we’d run out of one kind. and when she saw it she’s like ‘this is so cool thank you’. well wow again didn’t think it’d go over that well but ok. she’s my biggest fan. i’ve not drawn a piece like that.ever. um i.........so she couldn’t figure out what some of the anatomy was and so she asked [cause how else you gonna find out? well you’re not]. and i’m like ‘those are her lady parts’. ‘oh’. and then went on to explain ‘see this is her head and these are the legs and those are......her lady parts’. so that was nice.
