The Single Most Frustrating Company I've EVER Dealt With in Will Fly For Food

I am pretty much in a violent rage lately because of ONE COMPANY. The company's name is Student Loan Finance Corporation.

This company makes me inordinately pissed off lately for many reasons.

Two of my student loans were transferred from ACS to SLFC on the 7th of November. They didn't bother to tell me. They eventually sent out a back-dated letter notifying me. The back-dated letter had the date of 11/26/13 on the header, but wasn't mailed until 12/4/13, which meant it arrived in my mailbox on the 5th. I have tried repeated inquiries to speak with someone at the company which have all been ignored. I started trying to get in touch with someone at the company since the middle of November. Every single time I call I get someone's voice mail. What kind of company doesn't even have real people answer the phone?? Repeated messages left on voicemail system have been ignored. Repeated email inquiries have been ignored.

I finally submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau to explain what I have been going through to try to contact this company just for some account information.

They got in touch with me as soon as they received my BBB complaint. We went over my account information and even discussed my payments. I made my first payment on 12/2/13 and set up automatic payments from my checking account. They told me my payment would be $360, which is $60 more than I made through ACS, but whatever. $60 is OK. $60 is doable. I adjusted my budget for that.

Now I log onto my account page again and see my payment has jumped to over $500 a month! WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK??? Once again, trying to contact the company I receive voicemail mailboxes, leave messages with my name and telephone number... and nothing. Nothing.

If this is indeed the new reality of my situation, this will catapult my MINIMUM payments on my student loans above $800 per month. I earn just under $2,000/month. You guys know I've been on top of my financial game for quite some time. I budget pretty well. In the last year I paid off over $12,000 worth of debt (2 credit cards and my car). I've even been able to start saving for retirement and a house. I've turned right around and started a debt snowball system for my student loans, with my first loan being paid off by December of next However that was factoring in having a few $$$ left at the end of the month after everything is said and done to throw at that student loan. If my student loan payment is jacked up an extra $200+ a month, that will knock my additional contribution on my debt snowball down $200, which is devastating when I only had an extra $320 a month to work with. I really don't know what to do.

I am fairly confident that I can get an extended repayment plan for the loan, however they won't allow you to do that on their irrepairably bad website, you need to speak to your account manager on the phone. I would do that, TODAY, ASAP, whatev, if my account manager was ever there and/or answered the phone.

I filed my BBB complaint. I don't know how else to get the company to do their freaking job and take some freaking responsibility for their ineptitude. My complaint submitted to the BBB was about their lack of customer service, how nobody ever answers calls, returns calls, returns email inquiries within a reasonable time frame. Then when they lied and said they sent out a letter on the 26th of November when in reality it was mailed the 4th of December I called BS on that. Because, well, if I wrote 11/26/13 on a payment that was due on 11/26/13 and mailed it on 12/5, they would charge me a late fee. It's some ridiculous ass double standard. And they have the audacity to lie about it! "We sent it on the 26th!" means it should have been postmarked the 26th, NOT DECEMBER 4TH.

Sorry I'm just harping but damn. It's not like a business where I can take my loans elsewhere. I can't refuse to give them money because they suck. I can't do ANYTHING. I'm stuck, I'm totally powerless because my loans were sold by one servicer to another and I can't do ANYTHING to stop it. RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGERAGERAGERAGEKDFLKKDFOJPDFJODASPODJ!!!!
