I wonder if any of you will read this?I DO hope so!So far I have only made one New Years resolution and that is to use my powers of communication better and I am starting right here, right now!I realise that many of you have given up on me,and I am sorry about that. Its just that I didn't think really that you would be interested in my life.Lets check.
I am retired and spend my time pootling along, walking my dog Taitai in the early mornings and in the afternoons, checking onmy daughters and son..One daughter lives right next door, thats Penny and has 3 daughters:Chloe (15),Olivia,(Livvie 12,nearly 13) and Paige (9).They are a huge part of my life, and I think that becoming a grandmother has been a total joy in my life.enny is separated from her husband, however, after 4 years they have an excellent relationship and it works well for the kids.Penny is 47 and works online for a big survey company and also does Nanny work on th Island.she is known as the (baby whisperer' because she is so good with the little ones.

Janet is my eldest daughter and is 49!She has a longtime partner,Bill and 2 children, Samantha,(Sammy,19) and Jimmy (11) and she is a senir District nurse on the Island and has been nursing here on the Island for nearly 16 years.Richard,my son is nearly (46) and lives down country in Taumarunui and is a contract fencer ,whichmeans he puts up and maintains thousands of kilometres of fencing on thousands of acres of farmland down there. He has had many relationships and one marrige ,is now divorced. He is a bit of a lone ranger as spends a bit of his time deerstalking and in the bush!He has 4 children.Liam,(26) and Chelsea, 24, and Max,11 and Georgia (9).Liam of course is adult and has a son who is nearly4,making me a great-gran1Chelsea is also very much an adult and I have little to do with them as their Mums are 2 different women and not that keen.I keep in touch with Liam and Chelsea on Facebook.Georgia and Max spend a grat deal of time with their Dad and adore him. They spend most time with Mum Lisa.Very complicated!Richard is a very quiet, gentle man who has sorted out his life and I love him very very much.
I have been a widow for nearly 10 years, and loved my late husband very, very, much and miss him incredibly! He suffered from heart disiease for many years,30 altogether and we were so lucky to have hm for thse 30 extra years.
I have had many careers in my life, mostly as a trained nurse, retail worker and lLibrarian which I always wanted to be and decided to become at age 50!I am an ardent reader and nowadays have the time to read and devour 2 books a week as well as newspapers and magazines!Yup!Would have to say I adore reading and am pretty well informed and entertained by the volumes of written word I consume!!I write poetry and occasionally paint.I am not at all crafty in terms of knitting, sewing etc however, enjoy the achievements of others.Occasional gardener, however, quite reluctant1Just doen’t interest me.Also have animals that tend to destroy my uny efforts. My dog and a delightful cat!I live surrounded by paddocks on 3 sides and the 4th side is the main road throughout our Island.Waiheke Island.I We have been here nearly 30 years, and hubby is in the cemetery and my two daughters and 5 of my grandies live here as well, so I cannot see myself shifting!I love it here and my view over the paddocks to the sea. There are nrmally about 8000 population here, however at this time of year the visitors swell it to 20,000 oddes,we are a tourist destination, and also have quite few millionaires and multimillionaieres who have holiday and live in mansion homes!I rent my house or unit. The demograhic of the Island has changed radically in the 30 years I have been here, and I can live with it ‘cos I love being here, all year round!I belong to Toastmasters and am an advanced Toastmaster now and I also am a church going Roman Catholic and am quite involved in the church activities!I have led quite a dramatic sort of life,on stage and in my own experiences and am mostly retired from theatrical stuff.I am a recovered alcoholic of 36 years and very proud of it!!I still smoke, which everyone has an opinion of and which I understand is well-meaning however, drives me nuts!Sigh! If I want to give up.I will.It will be because I want to, not because anybody else wants me too,so please forbear giving me your opinion!
I keep pretty good health.BP good with some medication! When last atken 2 months ago was 115/56!Not bad for a nearly 72 yr old smoker!I have a few problems with my back, however,it doesn’t stop me doing what I love and I walk at least 2km a day,up hills over paddocks, onbeaches!I don’t use a walking stick and don’t intend to I was supposed to have back operation nearly 5 years ago and have no intention of having it unless the back collapses!Teehee!I was a farmers wife for a while and did a lot of heavy lifting and was trampled by a horse 30 years ago which broke my leg in 3 laces and my pelvis so theat has contributed to the ain in my bav]ck which I ignore!Enough about my health!!It actually is good for nearly 72!

My late hubby wasa soldier,a steel mill superintendent and afarmer then when he couldn't work anymore in 1987,we bought a yacht and he sailed until 2006 when he died on his boat .I spent a year sailing with him.He would sail for 2-3 weeks then come home for the same amount of time.I adored him and usually sailed with him for 5 weeks annually.I worked the rest of the time.I miss him incredibly and miss the sailing!
I am NOT welltravelled and have never REALLy had a hankering to.I lived n Fiji for 5 years in the 1950's,my Dad was a Headmaster over there and he died suddenly there aged 41 and is buried there. All I wanted to do when he died was come home to New Zealsnd and try to be a mormal kid!Not travel anywhere!I have been back several times to Fiji and thats it.
I am content to be a Mum,a Granny and to enjoy what time I have left!I am well informed about international affairs and am often shocked and dismayed by events internatinally and have my own opinions on these, however, they do not take over my mind.I have learnt the hard way, that the only person you can change is yourself,so don't try to change others. If anything, live your life as best you can and as kindly and caring of others as you can, don't be dissappointed in others. If you have too high a level of expectation of others, you are the one who will be critical and annoyed and dissappointed and they will just trolley on!I am just me,you are you and if we get along it is because we like each other for each other, not to change them.I have huge flaws and recognise and acknowledge them and have rectified many of them, so you and I cn live with them.I smile heaps,I laugh a lot and I love a great deal including my own life!

Enough about me.I have had a lovely Christmas and New Year with my family and I would love to hear about yours if anyone wants to communicate with me.
You will hear more about my llife and family as I intend to keep this going thsis year.My dear best friend is Gypsy Spirit alias Polz!
Anyway enough, enough!I have said enough for now and look forward to any replies I am lucky to get!!
Love and God Blessxx
