Here is some classic sitcom bullshit.
1- after my shift at work, I went to check on Wife. She was… distraught this morning. So even though we have a work around… I wanted to make sure everything was okay. She was fine… busy… but fine. She asked me to do some chores around the house and that was all.
2- after fighting traffic, I get home around 9:30. I do all of the chores but the dishes since I had been at work for 7 hours and wanted to eat.
3- I make food, eat it, clean all of my food dishes and do 98% of the remaining dishes. I leave the ceramic casserole dish out (I had already cleaned it with dish soap and hot water), the pizza tin (I plan to make pizza tomorrow), and a pan too big for our dishwasher. All of the other dishes (even all of Wife’s dishes for the last few days) were adequately dealt with.
4- Wife comes home very nuetral… but gets more and more stressed.
It becomes a whole big deal. I am suddenly yelling at her that the only things that exist in her world anymore are her job and her emotional issues. Meanwhile, she is yelling at me about not doing enough around the house… pointing out that I “didn’t even finish the dishes!”
So… both of us yelling… arguing over ultimately petty stuff (potentially because we are tired of having the same old arguments… namely why her mental/emotional stuff always seems to be my responsibility… something I am required to work around as opposed to her actually dealing with it).
Neither argument went anywhere or did anything and so she just walks away. Fine… let her sit with her emotion. After a while, I decided to put on an Anime… it was clearly Ghost in the Shell… and yet, it wasn’t. The Major had the wrong voice… Aramaki was SUPER young… and yet Batou was unchanged. At this, my wife walks in and joins the mystery. Working together, we figured out it was Ghost in the Shell Arise… a kind of re-working of the series. After figuring that out… she just walks back to the bedroom.
Seriously… I may honestly never figure out how to be married… or married to her… but… honestly, I know I’ll keep trying. I’m certainly failing at too many things to give up on them now, lol.
