Hi, Friends:

I know. I have been missing in action for over three months now.

A lot has been happening, and there is a lot of good news I want to share. Yet, there have also been so challenges for me over the past three months.

My writing has been going well. There have been three to five times I forgot to write, but I have written daily. I keep three journals: one is to write about everyday occurrences, the second one is to discuss insightful thoughts, and the third one is to discuss the series I will be writing. I started early April this year, and I have been writing for nine months–on the average–on a daily basis.

I also decided to apply for a feminist fellowship to expose more of my writing. However, I did not win. The feminist organization received 2,500 applicants but picked four applicants for each category they created. I only applied for the popular culture category. I found out today the winners. I cried some, but I realized that I tried and put myself out there. I will discuss more of that later.

Since I’ve been doing extremely well with writing consistently, I decided to give a daily exercise routine I go. I found out that the academic university I work in…staff and faculty get a discounted membership. I jointed the gym several weeks ago, and I have been working out five times every week. I am at my eighth week now, and I have stayed committed. I started working out because I was feeling pain, feeling tired, and start getting heartburn from time to time. I also started experiencing bouts of anxiety. Exercising five times a week has helped me tremendously. I can think straight. I am sleeping well. I am still having trouble with acid reflux, and now, I am trying to make better food choices so the reflux won’t become worse.

Work has been triple busy this semester and has presented many challenges. I’ve come to realize that there are a diversity of aged individuals who act entitle and spoil. I have also come to realize that there are older people in authority position who enable younger people as well. I’ve seen babying…and dismissing the writing on the wall when people are trying to communicate what is going on. It continues to be an eyeopening experience in how you have to let people become independent and not baby them because you think that they can’t handle it.

I am excited about the holiday break because I want to work on my thesis, work on my artwork (Yes, I have started to draw again), and take a novel writing workshop that I got a special offer from on Groupon. I also want to begin reading a lot of novels as well. I finished To Kill a Mockingbird and want to write an blog essay on it and do a drawing with it. Now, I am reading Octavia Butler’s Dawn which is fascinating, and I want to write to start writing about as well.

I miss writing online so much. I am going to have to find a way to incorporate it along with writing daily (writing daily is my handwritten journals). I am also going to have to reintroduce writing critical essay blog entries again as well. I miss writing those as well. I don’t want to give up what I’ve been doing to trade in doing something else.

I want to keep on fitting more hobbies and talents I love to do.

Cheers,
S
