Time is rolling on, and here we are at the first day of the last full week before Christmas, all of a sudden there seems a lot to do; but when was the festive season was any different! My Daughter’s foot in mending nicely, she has booked an agility class for mid-week, a little more out of the week, I think I shall have to move my visits to the gym; time to get active early – that could be a shock to the system!

I’m not a great sports fan, there are things I watch but I don’t have any silly tee shirts or hats blazon with this or that team, football I disregard as watching millionaires in shorts! Morning radio shows are keen of sports quizzes, the sort of quizzes that cost to call in the with the answer, a friend ‘T’ clams to know less about sport than I, an noticed he can correctly answer most questions; ‘some one is making easy money’ he comments.

Last night it was the annual ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ on the BBC, and I knew who would win since the end of this years Wimbledon, the first British man to win there in seventy odd years was a hundred per-cent cert; and he is a worthy winner – oh yah - it was Andy Murray.

The long passing of Nelson Mandela came to an end yesterday, over the resent days I have seen people in tears, and also celebrating the life of a remarkable politician, none of those so called leaders who were there or else where, are not half the man he was. He came out of prison free of hate, in his time in office he didn’t he didn’t spend the people money on himself; he embraced all the people of South Africa – all were equal in his eyes. Looking around I find one or maybe two who were his equals, Gandhi certainly, and perhaps Bishop Desmond Tutu; who may disagree out of modesty!

We are all nearing a New Year, we will hope for the best, and perhaps we should hope things go well in South Africa after Nelson Mandela ……..
