Fuck You PC in Book Two: The Fifteenth Year of the Third Millennium of the Common Era

Not the computer, this new wave of bullshit.

(1) Have you seen the Ottawa story? Yoga classes cancelled due to cultural appropriation. Never mind that the class has been taught, for free, at the Center for Students with Disabilities there for 7 years. FURTHER, never mind that there were ZERO student complaints. The student government simply decided to cancel the classes due to cultural appropriation on their own judgment. They have announced an investigation to discover whether Yoga (in this case meaning only the stretching and exercising elements) is culturally offensive to the Hindi Student population. Uhm… if the Hindi student population were offended… wouldn’t one imagine that a complaint, even an anonymous one, would have been filed?

(2) A video game from Japan that my best friend in the world has been desperately waiting for… has just been cancelled. Not really. The game is still made and finished. The developers, however, refuse to release it in the United States. Stating that the game’s content could be found too objectionable by the massing groups and the developer didn’t want to risk losing millions by releasing the game in the West. If that statement was exclusively about money… I would understand. Lots of games from other countries don’t get here and lots of our games don’t get to other countries because the Cost/Benefit doesn’t amount to enough profit. But that isn’t exclusively what is going on here… what is going on here is that… a country that has long demanded to be a Country of Free Expression… a country that supported the painting of the Virgin Mary painted out of Elephant Dung… is dictating artistic expression via “Offense.”

Vagina Monologues didn’t include transgendered women’s perspectives? College campus wasn’t allowed to put on the show and were required to do something that included the transgendered viewpoint.

Public School goes out of their way to find a solution for a transgendered teen so that she isn’t bullied in the Boy’s Locker Room and so that cis-gendered teenaged girls aren’t forced to shower/change in a Locker Room with an individual that has a penis? School still gets taken to the cleaners via lawsuit and made into a national pariah by the internet and the media.

And this video game… about scantily clad Japanese girls fighting one another… a pretty common concept for video games… cancelled. As my friend said.... “It saddens me that ‘don’t like it, don’t buy it’ isn’t enough anymore. The only way PC works in this new version is almost like a totalitarian dictatorship saying: Either you agree with us, or you are an Enemy!”
