Squirrel door. in A small but passable life.

Odd coincidence on the interwebs today. Two different over the road trucking vlogs I follow on the youtube posted today from Amarillo. Well, one was heading East from, but the other drove right through from north to south.
And I was reminded of what godforsaken country that really is. Flat land, sky, and not much else. I don’t miss it.
The squirrel door into the eaves has been found. A couple of more mornings of being woke up by their antics of running around in the cubbies behind the cubby holes and I’ll be plugging up that hole.
I made a huge batch of chili for the crockpot today. That will be sustenance until feast day Thursday. We have no idea who’ll be here, but we’ll feed whoever of those invited show up. There is a 16 pound turkey thawing in the frig right now. We still need a ham.
I’ve found another TV series to watch on the interwebs. I’m still waiting on a book to read from my hold list. There are probably a couple hundred novels on the shelves up here but none looks worth rereading. Yet.
The news feeds are turning ominous. I haven’t found the correct analogy yet.
Apes who’ve gotten too smart in the wrong ways?
I don’t know.
