AAAHHHHHH!!!!!
It feels so much later than 6pm. Then again, I’ve been up since 5:20 so that does make for a long day. I got up early so I could finish up the stuff I needed to transfer my patient. Had gotten woken up in the middle of the night by Harvey (who is usually kept out of our bedroom at night because Stanley’s a grump-face and growls at him) but didn’t think much of it. When I woke up in the morning, found a note from my mom. She had gone into atrial fibrillation in the middle of the night and Harvey had gotten into our area when she was looking for aspirin. She and my dad had gone to the ER. She’s only been in a-fib once before and, at the time, they had electrically cardioverted her. She got a prescription for a medication that frequently works to get people out of a-fib but she had never taken it before and they like to have people in hospital when they take it for the first time. Anyway, long story short, it worked, so yay! But very worrisome.
Aaron and I made it to Duluth just fine. This hotel is crazy. I have never been anywhere nicer. I’m currently curled up in the bed with my laptop and it’s so cozy. We located the testing center, which is like a mile and half from the hotel, so if it snows we won’t be screwed. Also went to a co-op and got stuff to make me an almond butter and apple lemon ginger jam sandwich to bring with me to the testing center so I have a good snack to eat on one of my breaks should I get hungry, plus I’ve got some granola bars.
I’m so sleepy but I feel like I should study more. I know they say that studying for a big test like this last minute doesn’t really help, but I’m a crammer by nature. Even if it doesn’t really solidify any information in my mind, I know I’ll feel better if I go over some large animal info. While doing so, I can enjoy this cozy bed, the Lake Superior view off our balcony, and our fireplace(!), maybe have some snacks.
