Well, the title says it all really! It was the 10k race for which I’ve trained over the past few months and last weekend I was diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis after aborting a 10k run at 1.8kam. I’ve rested and iced all week, it felt virtually better so I decided to do the race.

I managed to run the first 5k in a pretty good time, then hobbled, walked and ran the second 5k. I still finished in 1 hour, 8 minutes and 6 seconds though!

As usual I chatted as I went around, to whoever I was running near… and told everyone that I had Achilles tendonitis so that they didn’t think I couldn’t run the distance..! The rest of my body felt good to go, it was just that bloody left ankle!
