yes i’m aware thanksgiving hasn’t happened yet. Well apparently my sister’s cooking thanksgiving this yr. She’s making kale and we’re having tomatos and potatos and um. i don’t know what all else maybe corn. We’re having it at my mom’s and we’re going to my Aunt Joan’s the night before which i found out yesterday. I like Joan enough i mean she’s ok.Sshe’s just v. cheerful and perky and i’m so glad she’s not my mom. cause wow. i mean i don’t really know her.
So.........the wk. of halloween. er no wait it was the wk. before that so it would’ve been............um..............the............21st. So that Wed. my sister was at my mom’s at 4. She made us hot chocolate [my sister i mean] and we carved pumpkins. well my dad carved them. I drew on mine and my sister drew on hers. I drew a bird which my mom who was sick at the time thought was a chicken. well that’s the great thing about art is it can be w/e you want it to be. and also a chicken’s a bird, so. hey i’m celebrating thanksgiving early this yr. haha. On her pumpkin my sister drew a skull and on my dad’s it was the traditional um. ..............pumpkin face.
like no. My sister actually made the hot chocolate. by which i mean she made it w/ milk instead of water. and heated it on the stove. i had mine w/ cinnamon as always. I don’t ever heat things on the stove. cooking. scares me. i mean i can cook i just don’t. like i microwave everything. well everything that’s microwavable. obvs. not like fruit or anything no i don’t microwave that. omygod it was so good. I’ve always made it w/ water. Milk just seems like a weird thing to have warm. like it’s supposed to be cold. it’s just weird in general. although in Amsterdam [and probably other countries] they make it a certain way to where it doesn’t need to be as cold. A surprising amount of people are against microwaving.
We had these little brownies during the pumpkin thing. So then after that my sister & i went to the gardens which she lives right by. [the, botanic gardens i mean. in denver]. They had a pumpkin event goin on there. yeah the people who make pumpkin art are really talented. we saw a few dinosaur ones. and we saw um........luminaries too. oh and fog. er mist? it’s that thing. And inside a building they had these masks where you took a certain pencil they had and when you drew on the mask it came out rainbow. the masks were black. I didn’t know that you weren’t actually supposed to draw on the eyes. untill Kate pointed that out. and then i stopped. We had cat masks but they had other animals too. we sat at a table and drew. So during that we listened to music. like they had performers. they sang a Carole King song ‘i feel the earth move under my feet’ i remember that. outside of that room but in the same building they had a tree w/ orange paper butterflies on it for day of the dead. i like that idea except in the wild [or unwild. ok nature] you’re not supposed to touch butterflies and so that’s why i wouldn’t want to do it. There was a little boy writing something on a butterfly. his mom was w/ him.
so then i went back to my mom’s for a bit after that.
