An entry and NoMoJo 11 in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Happy Veteran’s Day. Thank you vets and spouses of vets.

I have 33 work days left!! 51 calendar days left.

Time is steadily marching toward retirement and I get more excited every single day. I am only taking the day before Thanksgiving off this year and am trying to get the house ready a little at a time. I will work on the wash/dryer/utility room today. Dusted walls and ceiling over the weekend and will finish that chore up in the utility area once I’m done. I need to work on cabinets in there and put things in different places. If I would stop getting stuff I wouldn’t have that problem.

Bought Thanksgiving dinner stuff yesterday after work at Walmart. I also bought a couple more yards of flannel. One piece is white polka dots on pink and another with white polka dots on blue. If I find the opposite pattern I will get some of it too. I’ll make stuffed elephants and stuffed turtles with it and think it would be really cute in polka dots.

Storms and high winds are heading our way today. The wind s supposed to be here by 9am and the rain this afternoon. I even heard a possibility of snow and freezing rain. Even if we get some I doubt it will cause issues since the temperature are staying above freezing during the days. We did get a hard freeze a couple of days ago so all my plants are dead. I picked a couple of cherry tomatoes last night that were on a wilting plant. But no more till 2016.

I’m a bit chilly so will put on another shirt with long sleeves. I know I’ll warm up when I get to moving around again. I did more work on Dude’s hunting pants. Hope he is happy now. Their whole crew will be here on Sat afternoon for the opening day of deer season. I do not dread the invasion as much as I have in the past, but this new attitude about the house having to look perfect for Thanksgiving is helping out there. If guests for Thanksgiving come to give this place a white glove inspection then they need a duster in the other hand, and possibly a broom attached with them. Winter will be the deep cleaning time and with strong cleaning products it won’t happen unless I can open windows. But it will happen.

I’m going to include the NOMOJO # 11 in this last paragraph. Short one at that.
Day Eleven: What are some traits and looks that you inherited from your dad? Looking at the negative of things, which I try and think mostly have overcome. Not always, but realize it is possible. I have dark hair and when long it has a natural curl like my dad has. Now we both have gray hair. He and I want to help our kids as much as possible. He more than I but it is a two edge sword. Sometimes he wants to help too much and without my mom here to give him the down side of giving too much to adult children which can make them even less capable of being self sufficient. And I’m not talking about me.
