Sunday, one fifty seven am.

Late again and I’m seat in front of my computer at one thirty, the wind that was blowing round the house last night as gone, when I took Ziggy out an hour ago there were no stars in the night sky; it’s not cold for the first week of November.

We did have some sunshine after lunch, I put out the washing but when I took in it was just less wet, not dry! We had to have the tumble dryer going for the first time, I wonder what that cost, I expect we well take a look at meter; I can see me reaching into the wallet – I try to keep light of the insides of my wallet!

I have my poppy ready for church tomorrow, I haven’t it on yet because of the rain, these paper poppies soon go limp in the rain; I wonder if we march through the village. As a child Gill didn’t like Poppy Sunday, she was pulled two ways by the Girls Guides’ and her Mum, the Guides’ said no coats while Mum insisted she wore a coat!

Sunday morning.

Once more the wind is gusting through the village again, a fine rain is going there and everyway, once in sides the church I think we will be a damp gathering. I’ve kept my poppy inside as our resent weather has been wet even when it wasn’t raining; I think of Gill in the 50’s with the Guides and Scouts parading through Shifnal with the solders of two wars.

My late to bed hasn’t been to bed, I did awake about five but I wasn’t long a wake, I was up at eight and washed by twenty past. Now it is nine forty and Ziggy and Lola have their morning feed, I’m in front of my computer my plat is emptily, all I have to do now is shave and then walk up the road; if the wind is going the right way it could be a quick walk ……

After Church.

I was rather suspired when I went though the door, the wind had eased down and the fine rain had gone; so I could walk to Church with my umbrella folded. It was a good service and the fourth hymen was split into two, so we had our two minuets silence. I feel I’m lucky to have found this Church, there is one old chap who always has a talk with me, I thought he was in his late seventies, he told me today he is eighty six, he doesn’t look his age!

Before Church he had been round his garden picking up bramley apples, the wind over night had brought down a lot of apples, after the service we go into the village hall for coffee or tea, in the hall he had a large bag of apples for those who wanted them, I kept back as I had some last time, but as people were starting to go there were still plenty there; we will be having apple crumple ……

Out side it looks like it is raining again, also the wind is gusting once more, I think I shall peal some apples …..
