What I'm doing with all the flannel in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Had that question asked a couple of times on the last entry. I’m making LOTS of receiving blankets. Most are approx 40 X 35 and that depends on the width of the flannel and the cotton fabric. I make one side out of cotton with flannel on the other. In other words it is reversible. One has the softness and cuddle of the flannel and the other side is pretty and can also be used to wrap baby if needed.

I have been making two for each expected baby or born baby. I will make another set for the couple that still hasn’t received that package in a week or two. I have most of the items made for a niece who’s expecting a baby girl next year, however she and her husband will be in Germany when the baby comes so she wanted to have a baby shower this month. It is the 21st. To more nephew’s wives are expecting and I think there is one more that I can’t think of right now. Maybe not, but the fertility bug is running rampart wit nieces and nephews so I’m prepared for more babies.

I also wanted plenty of fabric for the winter, after I retire, as I may see if I could actually sell a couple. Not sure though as with two fabrics and time involved it may make them too expensive. I’ll see where it leads and how many I need to make as gifts and go from there. I may be sick and tired of making receiving blankets after I get the relatives done that I’ll take a break. I also use the flannel to make changing pads, burp pads, and bibs so I do use a lot per baby.

Long answer for a quick question. Sorry

Take care and God Bless
