I came across this and it looks interesting so I decided to give it a try. I’m a day late starting so I have to write 2 entries today.
I’ve been doing quite well with my bucket list lately the last major item being our visit to Amsterdam in May. The only problem is when I visit somewhere like that I always want to go back so I can’t tick it off!
No 1, To get my autobiography published. That is up to me to get down to looking for a publisher, or there is always self publishing on Amazon. I would prefer it be a proper book though. I prefer reading books to reading on electronic devices, I’m old fashioned. Also I would like to be acknowledged so self publishing is the last resort.
No 2, I would like to visit France. I mean I can’t let those 3 years studying French in school go to waste! Seriously though, Brittany has always attracted me, I think because it is Celtic and I love Celtic places. My trip would have to include a visit to Paris. I would like to stay more than one day there but I am told it is expensive. At the very least I have to visit The Louvre and see Notre Dame and Monmartre. It would be nice to go to Bayeux to see the tapestry too.
Hubby and I have been discussing a visit but we are not sure if we want to drive. Our trip to Amsterdam without the car was great, but you don’t need a car in Amsterdam. It would be difficult to see Brittany without driving. The last time I drove on the right was 13 years ago in California but I am older now often on meds, and Hubby has never really liked driving in the way that I used to. We will have to look into the possibilities.
No 3, I have always wanted to fly a plane. I know I am not going to get a pilot’s licence now but one of those trial flying lessons would be nice. Trouble is my health again, I never know if I will be ill. What I need is a friend who is a pilot who would take me up on a good day. I’m not asking for much am I?
No 4, To visit Ireland again, go to Cork and find the place where my 4x great grandfather came from. This may prove difficult as he left Ireland before 1816, probably many years before that, and there are not many records that early. Also his name was John Doyle which is a pretty common name. All I know before he came to England is that he was born 1779/80 in County Cork, but it was him that sparked my interest in genealogy so I would love to find his birth place.
No 5, To visit Queensland Australia, see the Great Barrier Reef, explore that wonderful coast and visit Australia Zoo. I would like a stop off in Sydney too. This one is unlikely to happen as it would cost too much but I can dream.
