.. it’s Sunday. I worked a full day yesterday and that never happens on Saturday. I’m in the midst of stuff today. Home stuff. Laundry and light housekeeping and trolling the internet. Sure. Good for me.
I have two links for you.
The other is a series of pictures of immigrants at Ellis Island. They are just wonderful photos.
Dems are having a Brat (as in bratwurst) supper at PJ Hunters in Lansing this afternoon/evening. Three candidates for U.S. house will be there, plus someone willing to run against Grassley and our local incumbents, of which we have two. Jim is busy but we haven’t been to a Dem event all summer and fall so we may end up going. I need to give them some money and I might be a change to tell the county chair that I can’t co-chair the precinct caucus.
I have some really good memories of my Dem days but I just don’t feel it anymore. It seems like what I do anymore doesn’t really help. And I don’t want to do any more of it.
It’s funny. I have two entries in my mind - one a list of fun things I did as a Democrat and the other a list of details from the apartment tour which was two weeks ago today. Oh and I still want to write about An American Tragedy and now I can like it to my Japanese book about the female factory women cutting up the body of someone’s husband. Different books but both engrossing.
I worked a lot of hours last week and probably will this week too. Sometimes I feel good about it, other times less so.
Jim took some harvest pictures.
There is an orange wagon in the distance.
Here’s an orgy of red equipment.
Sounds like this might be the last year he works with the neighbor. He’s getting his own combine and farming his fatherinlaw’s farm in the north part of the county. His son has returned to the operation. It’s been an adventure and nothing stays the same. The rich friendship will remain.
