Tuesday 20 October 15.
For the time of year our weather is still quite warm, early morning and the later evenings now feel cold, and I’ve taken to wearing an extra layer; I’m not like the Cornish who still walk about in t-shirts ……..
I had a drive into Truro this morning, my Daughter was late for a meeting so I was asked to drive her Ford Ka into Truro and the multi level car parking, I drove up six levels until I found a place to park! I thought I would be walking down six levels to get out, but just one level down there was a way out, there was a gentle slope and a few corners and I was in the middle of Truro’s shops.
I had an hour and a half there, I did some shopping at Tesco’s, for a treat I bought fresh carrots and broccoli, I also found some good sized tined new potatoes for 20 pence; there were enough for my Son and my self with some left for tomorrow. All that and some meat and onion pies we had in the freezer made a nice meal, my Daughter makes her own meals, if we all eat the same it is prepared my Daughter!!
As I walked away from Tesco’s people noticed me stop and place my shopping bag between my feet, between the parked cars were rows of trees in there autumn colours; and just over the trees was Truro’s Cathedral.
Autumn trees and Truro Cathedral.
A blue car and a fallen autumn leaf.
The Cathedral and the River Truro, it flows in to the River Fal and it reaches the sea at Falmouth.
Boscowen Street, Truro.
Wednesday 21 October 15.
The Cathedral and the river Truro, it follows into the river Fal and reaches the sea at Falmouth.
Today we have a dull day with a breeze to carry a light rain, now we have swopped our Indian Summer for a British Autumn!
I had a companion with me for breakfast, a meal I normally have at a table in my bedroom, if I’m seen climbing the stares with toast and marmalade I am joined by Lola, as I enjoy my coffee and toast Lola is sitting at my feet watching me, I keep some crust for her to enjoy once I’ve finished; Lola takes each piece very carefully then her teeth get going!
