I volunteered at Cody’s school today as his class went on a trip to a pumpkin patch. I really wanted to see the kids in his class and to see how he acts in that environment so I signed up right away lol. He’s been talking about a new friend he made that he kept calling “Guckin” for a little while now. I was thrilled that he made a friend and couldn’t wait to meet him.
Cody and I drove to his school today and there were a bunch of parent volunteers so the teacher had put me in charge of Cody and his friend who is actually named Declan. It was a pretty fun trip other than the fact that I was crammed into a seat with the two boys at the very back of the bus where the seats are a little smaller than normal on the way so I could barely stay on the seat for the long drive. It was soooo uncomfortable. Cody is very quiet in class and him and Declan just talked to each other on the trip. I have a feeling the teacher encouraged them to be friends by pushing them together sometimes because no other kids interacted with them during the trip. He was an okay kid. Seemed a bit like a know-it-all type but I’m sure a lot of them are at that age. Cody is a bit but not as much as this kid. He also tried to break the rules a few times and I had to tell him “no, we don’t do that” but then he listened. Cody seemed somewhat comfortable around him but also a bit timid.....I got a weird feeling about it. Like maybe Declan is a bit bossy or something. I did catch him bugging Cody a couple of times (like poking at his hat) and Cody just sat there looking uncomfortable. It didn’t exactly make me feel good. I feel like Cody is going to have some trouble making friends because he’s quiet and can’t talk as well as the rest of them so he has to take any friends he can get, even if they’re a bit annoying :(
Anyways, on the trip we got to go on a hay ride, walk through a corn maze, the kids got to take home an ear of corn that the farmer said they could hang in their houses until New Years Eve and then pop it like popcorn, they also got to pick a pumpkin out and 5 apples each. They all seemed to enjoy it. I couldn’t believe how well behaved they all were. No one complained or said they had to go pee. That’s pretty good for a bunch of 4 year olds lol. I left once we got back to the school at lunch time and Cody almost cried because he didn’t want me to go. But he was fine once they all left to go to class. Probably because he was hungry lol. His teacher told me on the trip that Cody always gets so excited for snack and lunch time. Yup that sounds about right. He is always hungry!
I’m 14 weeks now! Definitely in the 2nd trimester now! I say definitely because some people believe it starts at week 13 and others week 14. I’m feeling sick a lot less lately and when I do feel sick it’s usually just the “I really need to eat or I’m just going to feel sicker” feeling. It’s fading for sure. And I’m not having to eat like a pig as much as before thank goodness. I heard the heartbeat at a doctor’s appointment last week and the baby doesn’t have down’s syndrome or anything like that. Not sure if I mentioned that before :) So I’m happy. I had a headache 2 days in a row on the weekend which sucked but at least it was the weekend so I was able to just go to bed early.
I sent my 12 week ultrasound picture to a website called www.thegenderexperts.com where you can send them your ultrasound, wait a week and then they tell you what the gender of your baby is. They say they’re something like 83-92% accurate and I got the email today saying congrats it’s a GIRL! So let’s hope they’re right lol. My chinese gender calendar calculation thing says the same. Although honestly I’m still betting it will be a boy until proven otherwise. 34 days left til I find out!
