As of October 6th there is a new member of the family. Isabelle Rose arrived at 5lb. 15ozs. That’s daughter number two for my youngest niece.
There are two more babies due to arrive before this year is out.
There’s been rain, clouds and cooler temps here in the desert. For three days and nights in a row the A/C has been off and the windows open. Yesterday morning it was 73 degrees when I got up. This morning it was 74 degrees. And starting today the temps are to rise back up into the nineties, close to one hundred degrees once again. It is 76 degrees in here right now at 11am. The thermostat is set at 80 degrees so when the A/C kicks on I’ll close all the windows and doors.
One week from today I’ll be flying back East. Daughter called last evening and said she’s had the A/C turned off for more than a week already. When I get back I’ll open the windows upstairs and leave them open until the furnace is turned on. I’ve waited all Summer to be able to do that.
It’s during these two shoulder seasons of Spring and Fall that I really miss sleeping in the van. I love waking up to the cool mornings. I’ve learned that the ideal sleeping temp is fifty degrees.
I found a good movie to stream online last night- “Trainwreck”. It was so good I may watch it again in a couple of days. Just, wow! A movie without guns or explosions. Who woulda thought? Anyway, I think I’m in love with Amy.
I’m pretty sure I’d like to be ten to twenty years older before I live here full time, if ever. We went out to a regular thing they like to do here which is meet up somewhere to eat. Yeah, more than thirty oldsters crammed into a banquet room at Olive Garden for lunch. Holy crap. I’m not that much of a social animal anyway. When Mom said last night that she really didn’t want to go to another one, this time Friday morning for breakfast at iHop, I said that it wouldn’t break my heart.
Last Spring before I left I helped Mom put up all the sewing machines in the sewing room. This week I helped take them all out again. And of course no one has sorted out the mess of keys for the storage lockers. Maybe they like it because it adds drama to a boring chore? Hell, I don’t know.
Oh yeah, the first two episodes of season twelve of Grey’s Anatomy haven’t disappointed. I think it’ll keep going. There needs to be some more characters developed though. Storylines never seem to be a problem. Plenty of material there.
I need to watch American Horror Story. I’ve only watched the first season.
Okay, enough scribbling for now. I can’t think of anything else, until I post this, of course. I think I’ll eat some lunch and head to the pool.
