There’s not much to mention today, but I want to get into a regular writing rhythm, so here’s another post.
My friend is in town and we’re having fun. We drove about six hours to visit a mutual friend over the weekend. Said friend, who introduced us a number of years ago, is pregnant, so we made a surprise stop-in to her baby shower. Since the girls live on opposite ends of the country, they hadn’t seen each other in a year and a half. I handled the driving; I was glad that I could help facilitate the meetup. Who doesn’t like feeling useful?
Friend has done some more roaming around our fair city. Once my work week ends on Wednesday morning, we’ll do some more. I haven’t been a tourist in my fair city in a long time, so it’ll be neat.
Work: There are going to be layoffs here. Soon. I’m hoping my department doesn’t get hit, but I don’t know if that’ll be the case. Even if there is, I have some money saved up and I’d get an okay severance payment. I’d prefer that not happen, though, because that’d mean I’d start over – again – something I’d prefer not to do.
We had our third kickball game last week. I still suck at the sport. I’m just glad to get involved with something and meet some new people (haven’t really formed any bonds through it, sadly).
That’s it for now. Hope y’all are doing well.

That's the most positive take on a potential lay-off that I've ever seen. Good for you having a bit saved up.
