i’m so big i eat the world

you’re trained to think that’s about my weight
like i’m an insecure little girl.

but i’m only undoing lessons i’ve learned
i was taught that being big isn’t right
that to be heard, to express
only leads to distress
that it’s imposing, ungracious, impolite.

all things to be suppressed
only speak upon request
but i will subsume all that gives me more room
in the plankton, you’ll flail
but i am the whale.
and the whole world is mine to consume.
