In yesterday’s entry I forgot to comment on the lovely adaptation of Laurie Lee’s “Cider with Rosie’ on Sunday night on BBC 1. Absolutely gorgeous photography, great acting from small children and adults, humour, the construction of time and place - and sadness as he leaves the valley at the age of 19 to go on - having found adolescent love with Rosie.
If you have read my entry on my first love then it came alive in the dramatisation - the tentative holding of hands, and that first kiss. People complain that it is not like the book, and they took liberties with leaving stuff out etc - of course they did - it is 90 minutes of tv - but it makes you want to go back and read or re-read the book.

Meanwhile we are throwing out clothes as we move the autumn/winter stuff back into the main wardrobe - and put the summer stuff away. Have I really had those shirts for 10 years? Some will go to Spain since much of the stuff there needs throwing out after ten years there! We only read need winter clothes there since it is just t shirt, shorts and sandals in the summer. Which one is me?
