Old school. in A small but passable life.

It started raining last evening and the temperature dropped enough that we opened the windows last night.
Haven’t really done much for however many days since I have done something. I’m still sitting in this chair.
Today Mom had a list of errands to run. First stop was the bank. I sat in the car while Mom went inside to ask someone why she couldn’t get into her account on her smartphone.
Next stop was the license bureau so she could put the car title into the trust. I waited for her in line while she sat and waited. After she got a number and was able to sit, I went out to turn some old prescription drugs in. I walked over to the cop shop and found the green box and dropped the drugs in.
I came back and sat with Mom until she got everything taken care of.
Next stop was a thrift shop to drop off several bags of stuff that were in the trunk from when my sis-in-law cleaned out several of Moms cabinets.
Next stop was a RV place to find a switch that needs to be replaced.
Next stop was a computer place. We turned in her old laptop for recycling and left her newer laptop to have a few problems diagnosed.
Mom doesn’t have a GPS in her car and she hasn’t figured out how to use the GPS on her smartphone and I don’t even have a phone so we’re navigating old school.
Address numbers go down while going West then after crossing to the next town with no detectable border, the numbers go down again. Odd address numbers on the south side and evens on the north side. What makes it hard is that everything looks the same.
Modern cities really are ugly.
We had shut the windows and turned the A/C back on when we left this morning. Mom has the A/C set on 80 and it didn’t come on until this afternoon. Nice.
And while we were at Rummikub tonight a thunderstorm blew through. We opened the windows and turned the A/C off when we got home. It’s 9pm and 80 degrees in here right now.
I need to be back in the Ozark’s in three to four weeks if I want to hike the Ozark Trail before hunting season. The next weather window won’t be until March of next year. And I’m not really in the mood for another Winter out here. I miss being able to sleep ten to twelve hours a night and taking an afternoon nap whenever I want to.
It’s true that not making a decision is a decision in itself.
I think I’ll just sit here for a bit.
