crazy in poetry

Decency is not dishonesty.
I won’t accept that proposition,
no matter how much political juice
jerks can get from that position.

They call decency dishonest
while all the while embracing
the idea of the End Times out of laziness
because if we’re all doomed,
they don’t have to try to make things better.

They mock the idea of being respectful
to all of our shared humanity
call it “politically correct insanity”
because it’s easier and
brings us closer to an End Times in the sand.

But I don’t want it to be over.
Call me crazy.
