All these people for whom being interesting was just a passing phase
who now aspire for average, I must admit, I weep for them…
All of these conventionals, why can’t they run off to a convent?
All of these apologists, why can’t they take us off their lists?
All of these mediocres, why can’t they just get hit by meteors?
Distinguish themselves like the dinosaurs.
Extinguish themselves and their holy wars.
Let all the rest of us get through this life alive.
Give us freaks and fellow travelers a little chance to thrive.
Give us all a second chance, a third, a four, a five.
We make this all more interesting than
drones lounging in hives.
You’ll see how it enhances
just give us ten or fourteen chances.
