Asylum Cemetery Project. The drama just goes on. and. on. Last week I sent an email stating that my nation will not take part in the project and cited the reasons why - no permits, no permission, where will our money go?, we are not part of what she named the United Tribes, she has no official recognition, she doesn’t speak for us, and in my dealings with her she has been rude and dismissive.
…After that I heard from a couple of tribes that 1) one gave her the benefit of the doubt but thought the project “hokey” to begin with and “fishy” when Crazy asked for funds and wanted them right away, and 2) another tribe is doing its own investigation on her.
…Crazy’s rambling blame missive says the official group started emailing us and turned “three THPOs and two tribes” against her. I don’t know who the others are, but I’m sure she was the reason; further, I tracked down the group, they didn’t reach out to us to throw a wrench in her plans as she insanely claims. She claims to be protecting the cemetery on her own, but frankly I don’t want her near my family (I have a relative buried there). She further claims that the city, county, and golf course want the cemetery removed, which is not the case.
…She claims she was threatened when someone told her she “doesn’t know what she’s getting into” - as a traditional person, I understand this; it’s not a threat as she sees it but more a warning regarding the spirit world. Although she touts personal spirituality, she has no clue about this.
…She’s so off the mark in her email, but for anything to be done there she needs all of us plus the permits and permission she doesn’t have nor is she seeking it even now. I could argue and set straight what she says, but that’ll just keep her delusions going. I think she really does have a mental problem.
Play. I’m not feeling it. I’m not going to Yale - I hate to give up going to Yale and seeing my old friend, but the only reason I’ll be there is for the play, and when I don’t go I keep some of its credibility away (unless the chief or our tribal attorney attend, but they’re not). If I were to use tribal funds for this, I couldn’t justify the trip, and I’m thinking that maybe I should instead take a trip to inspect the asylum cemetery for myself or head to the Land of the Wordsmith to see how much room our exhibit will have in the new Fish and Wildlife Visitors’ Center.
S. Last Friday everyone at S’s law firm took off early; in the late afternoon S called and said he was scared and lonely there all by himself! lol

Timesheet day! Per my usual, I almost forgot - someone just called to remind me. After nearly 20 years you’d think I’d reach a point where I could remember on my own. As much as I may need a break right now, I still marvel that I get paid for doing this!

Crazy wants her way and will lie or bend the truth to get it. Crazy plays the victim in hopes of getting her way by being enough of a pain that everyone will cave just to shut her up. She does not understand that she is upending a spiritual theology because she is unable to see anything but her own POV. I think not answering her accusations is your best alternative, too. An internet friend taught me well: never feed a troll, and you my friend, have a major troll on your hands! Wasn't Yale paying your way? Did that change? I'd check out the cemetery or ask someone who is closer...you never know what Crazy might do.

You have her pegged exactly! The Keepers group has been drafting a letter to send to us and will send it now because of the drivel Crazy is spouting.

Yale will still fund my way. I just don't want to go. I just meant if we were paying for that trip, I don't think I could justify it, so what's the justification now?

ConnieK Eriu ⋅ August 25, 2015

Keep resisting her efforts. She won't like it, but in the end, she is powerless (thank goodness!). Wasn't the Yale trip for greater understanding of the POV of your tribe or am I confusing the two? I hope to visit one day just to tour their museum. :)

Originally the play was more about the tribal and family point of view, but the playwrights kept adding to it and it now seems reverse exploitation. They also inserted it into the media campaign and imposed on everything the campaign did, twitter, instagram, facebook, to promote the play, making decisions for the benefit of the play rather than the campaign, and I knew it had become a monster when they offered it for everything, wanted us to pay, and said we were using them, and the last straw was when one of them claimed we didn't care when we didn't show up at one reading out of state when we've been on this case over a decade. I don't want to support them.

Whoaaa! I wouldn't want to support them, either! Asking you to pay for your own story that they latched on to is almost funny, but the underlying insult (intended or not) erases any amusement over the ironies of life. The accusation of reverse exploitation is insulting, since the play is about YOUR tribe. Reveals their true goal and it wasn't for greater understanding between groups.

I would go see about the museum space. Perhaps a polite note to Yale. LOL
