Give me the beat boys (with pictures) in My Unpredictable Life ...

So lots to catch up on ...

• We got another 2" of snow back on the 22nd. Man, something tells me we are gonna have a doozy of a winter.

• I am being honored with a request to do book cover for a friend. Of course when I wanted to do it, there was the whole 2" of snow on the ground. Then it took days for it to melt on top of me working and then when I could finally do it, we went out of town and now I am working again. I will try to get the picture taken on Mon. afternoon and go from there. I can see it clearly in my head. The fun part will be creating it in real life. Did I mention how humbled I am? I always am when people can appreciate my photography hobby. I just pray I can do her justice now.

• Hubby & I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. End of Jan will be 21 years we have been together. He may be an ass, he may not be what people would like him to be, he may not be my "soul mate" (if such a thing even does exist) or the great love of my life, but for the most part he makes me happy. There is never a dull moment with him around and the most important thing is that he makes me laugh.

• Work is work. I made it through the Thanksgiving holiday without repercussions. I finally found the missing page out of the front desk clerk notebook. It was stuffed in Joleen's housekeeping notes. Apparently she's hanging on to it for some reason? To make matter's even more strange, they have printed out the schedule from now till the fist week of Jan. Jimena/Ruth went through the copies and changed what they needed to change to accommodate their needs/wants. I noticed that they hadn't changed Dec. 25 to reflect that I am working it for Shelia so I wrote it in that I am working that night. I did nothing different than what Ruth/Jimena did. So how come they reprinted the new ones with the changes for Ruth/Jimena but still had Shelia working the 24 & 25th? Her & I have already signed the paperwork that I am working the 25th. So it's a done deal. So last weekend I wrote it on the new printout, again. I came in to work last night, finally found the schedules tucked away in Joleen's housekeeping folder, reprinted with me off on the 25th. The hell? Are they trying to say I am not working the 25th? Cause if they are, then they need to say it verbally. Otherwise, stop being petty & reprinting the schedule every time I write in that I am working the 25th. And while we are at it, stop being nice to my face/trash talking me behind my back so that I can cover day shift while you all attend your family member's murder trial. You need me to work for you? Fine. You don't have to be two-faced about it. I'll gladly work extra hours/day shift. Stop with the petty high school shit in the meantime. Grow the fuck up and come to me as an adult/management to cover the shifts. I don't play nice with two-faced backstabbers.

• We finally managed a little get-a-way for the holiday. I was prepared for work to pull a fast one over on me but they left me alone. Hubby was able to get off work early since The Child got out of school early on Wed. We dropped The Dog off at the kennel on our way out of town, where I was hard pressed to remember my lady-like manners. When I called & made the reservation, I made sure they would be open on Fri. so that she didn't have to stay through the whole weekend. When I dropped her off, they informed me that they had decided to close at noon on Fri instead of their usual 5pm. Damn, I was pissed. I asked them why they didn't call me to inform me of this. No one could figure that one out. So there went our Fri plans for the day. No biggie really. But it was the principal. We checked into our hotel only to be given a dirty room. Having been on the front desk side of that, I was very nice about it all. (I could sympathize) I did however get a little miffed when she was going to have to "downgrade us" from what we had reserved because all they had left for our specific reservation was the dirty room due to the next night's reservations. So I kindly suggested that one of those reservations for the following night could be changed around to accommodate my needs since I was already there and that one of those reservations could be given the dirty room since I'm sure she would make sure it got cleaned the next morning. She finally saw things my way and we got what we reserved. I could have went all Redneck Sassy and demanded a reduced rate, and yada yada yada, but as I said, I have been on the other side of the coin so I didn't want to treat her they way I have been treated when I rented a room that I did not know was dirty. But People, you gotta work with me also. I can't just not go all Redneck Sassy without your help. Common sense will go a long way in helping me out. I don't always enjoy going all Redneck Sassy. Not always. So please, leave the stupidity at home and I'll leave Redneck Sassy at home.

• Over all the hotel was nice. We very much enjoyed our stay there. The Child was in Heaven with so many things to do and kids to play with. I was only able to enjoy the hot tub the 1st night. Someone (or someone allowed their KID to play with the timer/controls) broke it so it wasn't working our 2nd night there. We'll definitely stay there again in the future. • I have a cousin who lives near Wichita. He is a Pastor and he helped officiate my wedding ceremony. We went to their house for Thanksgiving dinner. It was so nice to be around family! He's one of the "good" ones that I don't mind acknowledging. They sent us home with plenty of leftovers and some homemade apple butter, strawberry jam and corn relish that he'd been canning for days. I enjoyed spending time with them and it reminded me just how much I miss being in church.

So I think that is me, all caught up for the time being. Reckon I'll go get started on my sweeping and mopping. Not that the floors need it all that much (I wonder if they would fire me if I didn't?) but it'll give me something to do. Unless one of y'all want to call me to keep me company? lol No? Okay then, I'll just leave y'all with this picture till next time ...
