Vacation with the princesses---yeah! in In the Kingdom of Suzu

Leaving for the OBX today with PrincessL and PrincessM altho not without some drama.

For the past two weeks, the princesses were with their dad—his normal week in the summer and then his “vacation” week. During his vacation week, PrincessL a had signed up for field hockey. He had agreed to take her, then we find out that if she makes the team, practices are all next week. My daughter felt that since she made the commitment to try-out, if she made the team, she should follow thru. I was a bit disappointed but could understand her reasoning since the obx trip was somewhat a last minute deal. Unfortunately, PrincessL did not even last the full week. A friend stayed overnight one day and then PrincessL did not want to go. The next day, one of the ex’s other children got sick and had to be taken to the dr so she didn’t go that day either. My daughter was furious since, if the ex had informed her, she would have gladly taken PrincessL to the try-outs. Just typical ex behavior.

Next on the agenda, my daughter finds out that the princesses have lice! This is the second time they have come back from their dad’s with lice even tho his other children did not have it. Seems the friend that PrincessL had over (and she had contact with her the first time) was the one who infected them. My daughter is doing the treatments, making them wear shower caps and will check in with me today on the progress. She did two treatments on the girls and has already seen an improvement.

The odd thing is that PrincessL is with this girl all the time, they go to school together and are always hanging out but the only time there has been this problem has been when the girl has been with the dad’s family.

And if that weren’t enough, PrincessL either lost or forgot her bathing suit top from being at her dad’s. The step mom said she could come over and they would get her a new one but then the ex texted my daughter and said, no that is what I pay child support for, I am not getting her another one. What a jerk!
