Chris, our eldest son, came to visit this evening. I haven’t seen him for 5 weeks so it was good to catch up. He told us that his house purchase is finally complete so he and Jethro are property owners. The mortgage will be £640 a month which sounds a heck of a lot to me but is apparently not much more than renting would cost and this way they are buying a house.
I was shocked to hear that a friend of my husbands died last week. He was only 64 and due to retire in a few months. Hubby has been playing chess with him for years and will really miss him. He did the roof on our house last year which is the first time I actually met him in person though I had spoken many times on the phone. He was a nice chap.
I find it unnearving when people near my own age die. I guess it reminds one of ones mortality. I start thinking about things I haven’t done. Not just the bucket list things but putting my affairs in order and sorting out all of the accumulated stuff in the house. We have lived here 36 years so there is a lot. I also really want to get my autobiography published, but things keep getting in the way, what was that John Lennon said ‘Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans’
One thing I really must do in the next few weeks is throw out all of the stuff Cat left here. She has told me to do it, she has taken what she wants and doesn’t want anything she left here. The charity I do voluntary work for are opening a charity shop in a few weeks so I can give it all to them. It will make a change from bringing home things from charity shops!
