I’ve been quite busy. My summer semester ended. I met with the teacher that I’m going to be student teaching with this year. He’s nice, but he didn’t laugh at my jokes. It may very well be a long year.

We hired a nanny. She started on Monday, and I’ve been at the house most of the time with her establishing some routines and explaining important things about the kids, and where things are in the house. She’s 19 but she has experience with kids and mine really like her so far.
Childcare is crazy expensive, no matter what option one takes.

I am feeling bummed out about going back to school full time, and student teaching. I know that being a stay-at-home mom isn’t really for me, but I adore my kids and I love spending time with them, and I miss them terribly when I’m away from them. I have left for a couple of hours for the past two days so the nanny and the kids can warm up to each other, but I wanted to go home instead.

Lorelei is still nursing a few times a day. I’m nervous about going to the school for eight hours a day, but I might buy a hand-held pump in case I need to pump. When I was gone for six hours over the summer I didn’t need to pump, so we’ll see. She doesn’t really like cow’s like yet, but I think part of the reason is because she doesn’t like sippy cups. I will have to get her a water bottle type thing. She loves drinking from my water bottle.

Cannon made a choice last week, and he answered some “yes or no” questions. He’s never done that before, so I’m VERY proud! He starts preschool later this month.

I don’t start my college classes until the 24th, so I’ll be home to take him to his first day of school. I’m very nervous, but I’m also really happy that he gets to go to the special education preschool. He will be around typically developing children and other children with special needs. It’ll be so great for him, because he will be able to practice and pick up on some social skills like he did in daycare.

I finished a book a few days ago, which is something I haven’t gotten to do in awhile. I started Go Set a Watchman but I haven’t gotten very far yet.

We are getting settled in our new house and it’s very cozy and we all really love it.

I’m getting married in a month… wowie zowie.
