Wake up call today was 3 am. I had a good night. I turned it on the Golden Oldies channel and listened to music. Music always seems to help put me in a better frame of mind. I even did a little reading. I’m still struggling to finish that book America’s Constitution: A Biography by Akhil Reed Amar. I was reading about the 27th Amendment to the Constitution.

The 27th Amendment prohibits any law that increases or decreases the salaries of members of Congress from taking affect until the start of the next set of terms for the offices of a Representatives. I had to look this up on Wikipedia. Anyways what I think this means is that Congress cannot vote itself a pay hike. If it does the pay hike will not take effect until the next Congress is in session. I was reading about how this amendment was originally proposed as part of the Bill of Rights. It did not get the required number of state legislatures to pass until 1992

I love to read but I only read a few pages. This latest bout of depression has made it extremely difficult to concentrate I cannot absorb the material and get easily frustrated. Besides that I think reading this shit is a stupid waste of time anyways Why do I need to know about this crap anyways. ? I am not at West Liberty anymore. I couldn’t get it then and I have a hard time remembering this shit now. It goes in one ear and out the other. Need to be concentrating on cleaning my apartment and focusing on getting better or I will end up in an assisted living facility.

Starting to feel depressed already Remember to keep things positive 1) I am on top of the dirt. 2) I am in good physical health 3) I have a wonderful fiancé. 4) I have a nice apartment 5) I have clothes to wear 6) I have money for much needed meds. 7) I have phone, internet and cable hookup. 8 I books to read. 9) I have all my basic needs met. Life is pretty damned good and I am very grateful for the things that I do have.

Fiancé came up yesterday afternoon. She was an angel yesterday. She fixed me a cup of coffee and then she brought up a piece of pie. She also vacuumed my carpet and my apartment looks much better. We talked for a while and then she went home for a little bit. She came back later and fixed dinner . Her presence and getting something good to eat cheered me up.

Other than that I haven’t been out of my apartment. I had no desire to go outside. I probably will not go out today. I have no desire to mix with these people in the building. That is another story.
