Too much time? in A small but passable life.

Friday the daughter and I went for a grocery run. We went by the credit union first and then to the square so I could drop off the last book.

Daughter had her grocery list and I had a few cravings, but we did well. We always use my EBT first. I told the cashier we’ll stop at $200, if necessary. If that happened we’d total out and continue on another receipt. And it totaled out to be a little over $160. Nice.

While I bagged groceries (we were at Food-for-Less) daughter was buying 100+ bottles of water and 100+ hotdog buns for Rachel’s wedding.

It took us awhile to get everything put away. The frig and freezer are STUFFED the pantry is getting full.

I got out the Seal-a-Meal and vacuumed sealed a bag of dehydrated tomatoes. It turned out rather nice. We plan on buying and dehydrating tomatoes all summer long. Peppers too.

Saturday, yesterday, Liam Dog woke me up at 7:41am. Damn dog. I’d planned on sleeping until at least 8am. Oh well. I went downstairs. No coffee on. Daughter was in the shower. I went ahead and went out to change the oil in the van. I was done by 8:20am. Not too bad for not having done it in years.

After brewing some coffee and filling our travel mugs, we headed to the farmer’s market. Daughter picked up odds and ends and we bought another ten pounds of ground beef. We still had two pounds left from last months ten pound purchase. Not too bad. There weren’t any decent looking tomatoes.

Yesterday afternoon I got the second desk put back together in the other attic room. That room is still piled high with stuff and more stuff. Daughter has been too busy helping Rachel with the wedding to do much up here.

So, today, Sunday, Liam Dog, Fat Cat and I are alone until this afternoon. They are both sleeping right now and I’m fixing to go downstairs to pour my third and last cup of coffee.

Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, the attic.

I’m slowly getting the remainder of my possessions sorted and in order. I still have too much stuff.

Now that the moving is all done I can return all the “car camping” stuff to the van. There is no need for it anywhere else. I’ll keep what backpacking gear I want and my backpack up here. The big duffle of winter clothes can stay up here. At least until I figure out what is not needed and I’m going to give away. Everything else I’ve assigned to a specific bag or the footlocker.

I’m back to reading the book of sci-fi short stories while I wait on the five books that are on my “hold” list at the library. That and probably wasting too much time on the interwebs.
