Going for a walk today probably wasn’t the smartest decision I’ve made in a while. It was that fucking windy that if I was carrying an umbrella, I would’ve made out to be Mary Poppins and flew off into the horizon.
Geez Louise!

But it was better than being stuck in my freezing cold room, which I swear turns into an igloo in the Winter months. Because I’m the only bedroom on the lower level of the house, I get no warmth whatsoever from the sun.
So I threw on a jacket and off I went, for a walk up via St Paul’s Terrace and ended up at Homemaker City. I hadn’t been there in years I realized, ever since I first joined that Goodlife gym there. It was surprising to see that it’s now 24 hours… something I wished it was about 8 years ago when I WAS a member. Grrrr lol.
I can guarantee it’d still cost a small fortune to join up with, so I’m probably better off where I am. Speaking of, that membership runs out next month. Already. Man, 14 months goes by so fast as an adult.

It was nice whenever the sun was on me, but that WIND that fucked everything up for me. No matter where I walked or what building I thought would shelter me from the blast of cold air from the Antarctic, the wind still found me. Well and truly. I was almost going to curl up in a ball low in the corner of a building until I thought the owners would probably notice and call the police on me haha. I just wanted protection! ^cries^

I’m a Queenslander through and through. Born here, raised here. Country kid turned city-kid. I’m not used to this bullshit weather from the southern states :P Give me back my heat please! I want to go to the pool and swim and tan and check out the hot shirtless guys! THAT is my kind of weather, God dammit.

So now I’m BACK at home, in my room because at least in here, the walls are protecting me. I’ve closed my window and have my heater on. Anyone would think I live in Iceland the way I’m behaving. It is warmer than it was, and my phone says 20 degrees, but take at least 8 off of that for my room, and it was only 7 degrees when I awoke at some ridiculous hour this morning. Which means it was about 1 degree in my room lol. Maybe I’m over-exaggerating.

I did take a few snappys whilst out on my walk. just boring Brisbane view stuff. I kind of made my way around in a circle through Spring Hill, the valley, Newstead, Teneriffe and back home. The usual walk. I had intended to walk further, but nope. It was a suicide mission I decided. Mother Nature had other plans.

On my walk there.

This doggy was asleep and I thought he looked really cute, but in the time I stopped to take my phone out of my pocket to take a pic of him, he sensed something wasn’t right and opened his eyes, saw me there and proceeded to howl at me that I was trespassing on his owners property (when I was only walking by on the footpath). So I decided said-doggy was no longer cute anymore.

Then since I was near the Story Bridge, I took a few snaps of it, even though I must have hundreds of photos of it over the years by now.

At least I’m warm now.

My mum posted some photos of snow on her Facebook. They went for a drive to try and spot some, since it’s so rare this far north, but I’m pretty sure they had to go to northern NSW to see it.

Traffic-jam just from people wanting a glimpse of snow. That’s how rare it is here!
