Our focus just now is on the garage, we are at those last boxes that have been against the wall, the have been there to long; a sure sine we have been here to long as we remove these fragile boxes …..
We had our get together this night, we have seen all the Happy Potter films now to tonight was the Simpsons, they were ok but their hummer has lost its freshness. Last night we watched ‘Dad’s Army’ there are only of two of the cast still will us, Ian Lavender – Pike ‘stupid boy’ and Frank Williams – Reverend Timothy Farthing.
It was first seen here in July 1968 and the last episode was screened on the 13th November 1977, since then there has not a year when the program was repeated, much of hummer was based of things of the war time, I still get these jokes as watched them with Mum and Dad who lived though the second war; and my Grandparents who lived through both wars.
Some how the hummer of ‘Dad’s Army’ remains as fresh as it was first seen all those years ago. As well as the repeats it has been on radio, stage and the big screen, now they are making a new film, it will be interesting to see what they do with this classic, stick with old scrip’s or make a ‘Dad’s Army’ for the now! I hope they do better with Dad’s Army than they did with the new film of ‘Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy’
Dad’s Army was still enjoyed by me and my two children, this BBC classic from forty seven years ago!
