Ironic, eh? in A small but passable life.

I just can’t do it. I cannot watch the stupidity of politicians any longer. I’m just going to have to face the fact that probably half this countries population is insane. And leave it at that. I gave up arguing years ago. It may be time to not care.

Yesterday morning I walked to the library and turned in a book and retrieved a book that was waiting for me.

Jassy’s mother had brought her lawnmower and a grass rake to town so I made quick work of the front yard last evening. I screwed up and had the mower discharging towards one of the flower beds so now there are grass clippings on top of the new mulch. Oh well. I still need to tote the clippings out back to start a compost pile.

I started carrying novels up to my garret yesterday. I’m making sure I’ve got them listed on my Shelfari before I shelve them. That way I shouldn’t have to mess with them again. I’m getting close to having a thousand “books read” on my Shelfari. And 75% of those actually have a “date read” also. Not too bad.

This morning I managed to get most of the non-fiction shelved on the big bookshelf downstairs in the living room. And I washed two days worth of dishes. And I toted up most of the rest of the novels to my garret. Not a bad start to the day.

I got out the Garmin etrex and the instruction manual I printed out for it years ago. I’ve never really used it that much. I’ve always been old school with topo map and compass, or just hiking “that-a-way”. But the new Ozark Trail Guidebook has GPS way points included so I thought maybe if I could figure out how to load waypoints into the Garmin, which it says it has room for 500 waypoints, then maybe I could use the “go to” feature if I need to. Or I could just start hiking and wing it. It’s not like the Ozark’s is true wilderness. There is probably not anywhere in the state that you’re never more than two miles from a road if you can hold a straight line while hiking.

I have a lot to do, but at the same time, not really much to do.

I watch and read news articles just to see what’s not being in the news.

There won’t be any real news until the lights go out and then no news will be possible. Ironic, eh?

I’m back up to more than eight hours sleep every night. Plus an afternoon nap every now and again. It’s something to kill time, I guess.

Anyway, nap time!
