Up early. in A small but passable life.

Sunday morning. Both the youngsters are at work this morning and most every Sunday morning so I decided to go back to my Sunday shave and shower, whether needed or not.
My darling daughter celebrated her 22nd birthday this past week. Her boyfriend spoiled her rotten with a steady stream of small gifts delivered from Amazon.
I got the two flower beds out front weeded and under control and under a layer of beautiful black mulch. So pretty. They’re not bordered with anything but the too tall green grass.
For Father’s Day my daughter got me a copy of “The Ozark Trail Guidebook”. So yeah, a 340 mile hike starting somewhere around mid-October sounds like a good idea.
I finished reading “The Bone Clocks” by David Mitchell. He’s the guy who wrote “Cloud Atlas” which I’ve seen the movie but not read the book. Anyway, in this book he’s come up with a new name for when Civilization 1.0 comes to a close- “The Endarkenment”. Which is very apt when you think about it. When the oil goes, the diesel goes, which means the locomotives delivering coal to the power plants and trucks delivering groceries to the markets stop running. It’s going to get very dark very quickly.
The moving continues. Tuesday night I think is the deadline. Not much left to move except about 500+ books.
I’ve added three pieces of furniture to my garret. I bought a carriage bolt and fixed my lawn chair. The chair I was parked in for many, many days while living in the van down by the river. And since I’ve decided to use the chair I brought up my little aluminum camp table to set beside it. I covered that with a piece of black suede. That’s where my new shade-less lamp is now residing. I also brought up the ottoman I had found by the dumpster last year and had been used in front of the rocking chair. I feel SO civilized.
I’m still going through bags sorting out gear and various odds and ends. I also took out the tapestry that has been packed in my footlocker for about ten years. I’ll go ahead and hang it on a wall and let Jassy deal with it if I ever need to leave. I can’t believe that thing is nearly forty years old and still in such good shape. Amazing. I bought it in West Germany from a street vender. I don’t know where it was made.
And on to other news.
How about that Supreme Court? Maybe they don’t have their heads up their asses so much anymore? And the Republitards are going fucking nuts. Spewing all kinds of stupid shit. I love it. Watching all them all ride the crazy train may make for an interesting run-up to the next election.
You know the old saying- ”If you could reason with religious people, there wouldn’t be any religious people”? You could say the same thing about Republicans and Conservatives too.
The whole political scene is nothing but DUMBFUCKERY anymore anyway. We’ll be lucky if civilization is still around by the 2016 election.
So yeah, now I’ve got high speed internet 24/7 right where I sleep. Just like when I was living in the van next to McDonald’s before the laptop battery died and when I was out at Mom’s. I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do with it, but I’ve got it. I’ve already decided that there’s no reason to tote the laptop around. I found my old ‘manbag’ to use instead. I’ll tote my tablet and a book. Good enough.
Liam Dog insisted we get up at 8am this morning. So now it’s only 9:39am and I’m fixing to go down and pour cup of coffee number two. Ridiculous dog.
