15-06.23.118 in Book Two: The Fifteenth Year of the Third Millennium of the Common Era

No word from Louisa County today and as this was their deadline for final offers; I guess that means I don’t have to worry about making that decision. Good. Really. It would have been a very difficult decision to make. And another county in Iowa posted for a Assistant County Attorney… so I’ll be applying to that today. But… still… a little bummed. I mean… I get it. For every job that opens, I’m sure there are a hundred applicants most of whom with better qualifications. But… it would sure be swell to have an adult job… get health insurance… become a part of a community… maybe buy a house… get the whole Adult Life thing started. Mostly for myself, yes… but also… well, I know she is responsible for her own life and decisions and the like but… I just feel if I were able to get my part of “Adult Life” started… maybe it would help my wife do the same.

For the most part, we can totally chalk this day up as another Blah Day.
Went to work, did my forty minutes of filing paper work. Left work.... drive home usually takes me 20 minutes… I left at 5 pm and wanted to pick up a package at the Apartment Office… office closes at 6 pm. I thought I’d be okay. I thought wrong. Remember, the drive home typically takes me 20 minutes… and that is during rush hour. Nah… three multi-car collisions including at least one semi-truck. I didn’t get home until 6:45 pm!!! That is 95 minutes! That takes my normal drive time and multiplies it by four and three quarters!!! Stupid flipping Omaha/ CWS traffic! Soooo… did not get the package.

Oh… don’t know why this popped into my head saying that but.... also did NOT see “Inside Out” last night as had been planned. It is turning into “The Zoo” all over again. Wife and I plan to do something (because we’re young, married, and should do things with each other) but… then she just decides she doesn’t want to, lets do it another day. So I bug her about it for three weeks always with the “No, not today. Lets do it another day.” Until after three weeks of that, I just stop asking. It is why we haven’t been to the Zoo this year as well as a number of things that have been planned but never done. And… I just don’t want “Tuesday $5 Movie Night” to become one of those things.

Plan for the rest of the night is stupid. I just ate a big ol’ salad (cuz I’m trying to eat healthier). I’ll probably try to apply to another position tonight. Wife and I will probably start packing for our Reunion Trip… starts Sunday!

Speaking of… during my 95 minute “drive” home (more like park, crawl, park) I heard about a concert that is coming to the area. WEIRD AL YANKOVIC!! I have always wanted to see one of his concerts and I honestly want to own every Album and DVD he has ever come out with. AND the concert is ON the day of my wedding anniversary! Oh… wait… yeah. That means that while He is here, I’ll be in ‘Boji for the Reunion. Bummer. The reunion better be fun, lol.

I am definitely bringing my laptop with me to the reunion. Largely so I can keep applying for jobs that may pop up. I likely won’t be writing much but (if/when I can) I hope to stay on top of reading. Maybe (hopefully) I can work on some stories I’ve been working on so I can finally post them!
