Colic Update Wednesday, December 03, 2008

I am just going to keep a record of Lily's colic.

Today was a pretty good day. She didn't show many signs of pain. She cried quite a bit in the morning, but didn't raise her legs or arch back. However, tonight she showed much pain. She screamed out a couple of times and held her legs up a lot. Of course it broke my heart. I told her to fight through it and I gave her a half dose, followed by another half dose of Gripe water. It has seemed to work. She's peaceful now. That is until I put her into her crib for bed. She immediately starts to cry. Even if she is sleeping on her bouncy, she will wake up as soon as she is in her crib. I have tried 3 times. She won't sleep in her swing either. She will only sleep on her bouncer which I don't feel comfortable leaving her on to sleep. Besides, she wakes up as soon as the vibration turns off, which is a way too short 10 minutes. So now it's 1am and she is still crying. I don't know what else to do besides wait for her to cry herself to sleep and check on her every 5 or so minutes. I feel helpless and basically useless.

Last night she slept from 2am to 6am. Then 7am to 11:45am.

She cried a lot last night until 2am, but didn't show much sign of pain. I gave her some baby tylenol.

I know most of my "Mom" friends have said that when you find that ONE place that your infant will sleep, GO with it! LOL My friend's daughter slept in ONLY her swing for the first 6 months, practically. That sucks that her bouncer stops after 10 minutes...any way you could find another that had no limit? (I remember with Katie's I had to turn it on or off, it ran for as long as I'd let it.) [Mommy2Katie] 12/3/2008 7:18:49 AM
I am with the above noter. My daughter slept in her carseat for 3 months ...
