“We need to be uncomfortable and have discussions about race like adults.” But what is the end goal? After all the talking is done then what? What is to be achieved? We say equality among all, even then aren’t there exceptions to the rules? What exactly do organizations like NAACP or the more radical movements actually achieve? “Look white people. We can do it too”. Is that what equality is? A game of “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better”? What is the end goal?
I keep hearing rhetoric. I keep hearing cliches, but what is actually being done? My days are saturated by race relations. Just yesterday I think the “N” word was avoided in my presence. However, I know of just about every term used as a derrogatory measure. A guy was arguing with his girlfriend, I suppose. They were about to get on the bus. I was walking to the store. I guess he didn’t approve of her attire. “You look about as bad as these ‘monkeys’ around here.” I started to turn around and do the sterotypical “ooo ooo aaah aaah” sound people have bestowed upon monkeys.
I’m supposed to care. I’m supposed to be angry. Aren’t I? There are a lot of inequalities that I can see. But at the end of the day when all the talking is done, what is the end goal?
I want to make my own nation. Where will I get the land? Who do I have to pay for it? Where will I get my ideas from or what structure would I use as my basis? Still lots of talk, but who is willing to put in work? Seriously.
I keep coming back to the race thing because it’s more prevelent than it has been. Everywhere I turn these days. I’m starting to see the divide in life, but lucky for me, I’m not seeing a divide in my life. I have friends from all over, that believe what they believe and I respect that.
I’m sick of oversensitivity to somethings.
I’m sick of undersensitivity to somethings.
Some people need to get over themselves.
And everything is not a fuckin conspiracy…
Life, unfortunately, has no happy median.
That whomps…
Respectfully bothered & venting,
Sister…
