Not quite a review as I’ve just begun to read this thin book. I’m reading other books, all very lengthy, and wanted something I could actually carry with me when I went out. I usually know where a book came from, but not this one.

Published in 1966, according to the blurb on the back cover, it has something to do with a quirk in time. Either it’s the basis for a Twilight Zone episode or triggered by one.

As I started the book, I thought it would’ve been one my father would’ve enjoyed. The main character is a musician/composer and his buddy is a scientist/engineer. There is a strong element of mystery in the story. My father was originally an electrical engineer and played piano for fun (especially Beethoven).

One of the pieces my father played beautifully was Opus 111. I love the piece and have gone to concerts just to hear it. Imagine my surprise as the musician character in the book flips through music pages and comes up to Opus 111 in order to play it! I haven’t kept reading beyond that point… yet. I will. Just want to savor that memory for a little bit, first.
