I had a good morning. I finished reading my book The Fifties by David Halberstam. I worked on my budget for next month. For one brief moment I decided I will not get a NOOK. I kept thinking it is way too expensive since I’m already making computer payments. I said to myself the smart thing to do would be to finish paying for the computer. I only have to make nine payments. Then I can get the NOOK I said to myself having that extra money next month would be a lot less stressful.
Besides that my B&N account has been hacked. Would it be wise to trust that sight after somebody accessed my debit card and already took $30? I kept thinking they are just waiting fort me to put up another debit\/credit card number so they can get that as well. If I did that I would be worrying about some asshole getting all the money I put on the card. I kept telling myself do not be a fool. John you got to bne very careful with the type of information you put on the Internet.
It all sounds like very good advice. But I have my heart set on a damned NOOK. Come hell or high water I will probably fork out the money for it. I’m usually pretty sensible with my money. But this is one thing I want for myself next month. I will not listen to my sensible self. I will go crazy and by the NOOK then bitch at myself for being so stupid in throwing away all that money.
I’m crazy I’m just plain crazy
I started reading a book called America’s Unwritten Constitution: The Precedents and Principles we Live By. It is by Akhil Reed Amar It seems pretty interesting. I read the first few pages of it. Did you know that the first Amendment prohibits Congress from passing laws that abridge specific freedoms But that amendment does not stop the President or state governments from doing so. The first ten amendments in the Constitution are known as the Bill of Rights. But that document does not mention a Bill of Rights. It also does not mention separation of powers, checks and balances or the rule of law. All this is and more is part of American’s unwritten Constitution.
Well tomorrow is the first. It is a big day for my fiancé and me. We get our checks. We get the social service van driver to take us to the bank, city building and then Wal Mart. We plan on getting some much needed groceries at Wal Mart . I am looking forward to getting out of the building. But I wont be taking any money out of my account. I’m saving that fort the3rd when get my Social Security check.
