Ballcocks, slides and tools in blackpropaganda

This is a week for jobs to be done before we fly to Spain for a couple of weeks.
Yesterday it was the turn of the plumber to come and sort out what appeared to be a leak in the down stairs toilet - in fact there was a problem with the ballcock (isn’t there always!!) which was not shutting off the water so letting some go down the internal cistern overflow. Good to say it is now sorted. Luckily we have a plumber at the bottom of the road.

Also had to sort out getting an MOT test on the car when we get back - and get in touch with our friend in Spain who is now living with some one else nearby while his ex-partner lives in their house. He looks after our keys and keeps a check on things - but it may be a little difficult if they are both a round.

The good thing is that it should be C28 at the weekend there - nearly C20 more than it is here.

And an old friend found a way of reproducing 3inx3in glass slides, which were used in cinemas as advertising, as jpegs. The quality is brilliant - here are a couple

Watched an old Lewis episode last night - the followup to Morse - set in Oxford, with a couple of murders, and I wondered how Lewis would deal with real life, with a family of mother, young daughter and her partner stabbed to death by her older son - whose body was found in woodland yesterday. They came from a town just outside Oxford and he was found very close where he had worked in The Parks in the centre of Oxford. A really tragic case.
