Semi short entry in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Decided to clean out the gutter on the front of the house. Big storm late yesterday was horrible and the entire length of the guttering was overflowing. Got it done although it took some time. Then decided to work on the side downspout for the garage guttering since it is stopped up somewhere. The drain pipe for it is mostly underground, so didn’t get it unclogged. Need to come up with something shortly though. *sigh

J came out while I was working on the side gutter spout and I asked him if he was ready for breakfast. Yes he was. I decided to call my dad to see if he wanted me to come up and get him for breakfast. He did. I fixed bacon, eggs, and biscuits. He had to wait until I cooked it all but he was here about 2hrs. I took him home when he asked and also took the papers that I used to pre-prepare his taxes back to his house. He took a pain pill and said he was going to rest for awhile. I estimate the rest will be 2 to 4 hrs. Fixed him a large glass of ice water so he can drink it throughout the day. I really think he needs to drink more water. Also told him NOT to take 2 different types of pain pills at the same time. So far he’s doing as I requested.

Will get him as early of appointment as possible tomorrow. Not sure when it will actually be, but he seems to be doing a little better. Still weak and feeble but knows reality from not.

DIL came yesterday while I was at Dad’s and we switched vehicles. They and her mom were going to 6 flags today and needed the 3d row seating in the Tahoe. I’ve been praying for the Tahoe and them too. heh

I plan to go to work tomorrow. Work may be a bit of relief if I was honest. Hate to admit that and it isn’t going to change my mind about retiring but this weekend has for sure made me think about what I was doing. lol

Happy Memorial Day and God Bless all those who have served, are serving and will serve this great country!!
