New journal, I feel as if Im starting over...Plus Retail Rant... in The Trials of a Broke College Student Working Retail

Apparently Im one of the many former OD users who has decided to just say fuck it. Tired of all the slow. I tried wordpress for a while, but did not like it. This seems much simpler.

Here I sit, watching Harry Potter, fiance asleep on the couch next to me, listening to the rain in the background.

Im damn near 25 years old, working a crappy retail job, going to an okay community college with high hopes (no pun intended) of going to Humboldt State one day. I love to sing and dance, but rarely get the chance to actually go out and go dancing anymore. Its been so long since Ive gone and danced to any kind of music except techno of some sort. Dont get me wrong, I love raves, they're fun and all, but I need something different.

Im an all around crafter. I really cant help myself. I'd rather shop for yarn and buttons than clothing or purses and shit any day. Target is an exception. I love Target no matter what you say.

Speaking of Retail establishments...

For those of you brave coughcrazycough enough to shop on Black Friday, please be aware that Retail employees are human just like everyone else...

It will be busy on Black Friday, so dont delude yourself into thinking that each and every employee will be at your beck and call that day...

Sometimes, we wont have what you are looking for, and it is not our fault. You should have made it in earlier or shopped online...

We have lives too. Retail is not the world to us, it is a job.

Please try to be patient. You have made the decision to shop on the busiest shopping day of the year. We did not make that choice for you.

And please, please, please!, please dont complain to any retail employee about the fact that you have been up all night shopping and are tired. We will not feel sorry for you and at that point I will try to upsell the shit out of some expensive item to you.

Remember, retail employees get treated shitty by people who have chosen to spend money at this time of year. And all year round for that matter. We are not your servants, and frankly there are some things are not in our job description.

Dont be offended if we cant do something for you and you want to speak to a manager that we havent even seen for the passed 4 hours that is going to take another 20 minutes to get to you.
