I had a date! in Boredoms

I haven’t done the date thing in…essentially ever because all my past relationships have been very unorthodox. Usually by the time I’m going out with someone it’s because we’ve know each other for a while in some close capacity (plays or work or what have you) and we skip right over the dating part. So, this was a new experience, really. Her name is Roxy and I could go on and on about her but suffice it to say she’s amazing and has so many of the qualities I’ve always wanted (including the elusive ability to see my otherwise off-putting quirks as a good feature).

We started off with some lunch at Fuji, a cool little Japanese restaurant I like. Both got chicken teriyaki (though I went a little further and got a combo with tempura). Then, even though it was overcast, we went to Priest Point for some nature walking. I can’t really say hiking because it was more a leisurely stroll. There were too many people there today…don’t know what I was expecting what with it being Saturday but we did our best to avoid the families that were just everywhere. We talked a lot, that had to happen. I was pleased to see I seemed to genuinely entertain her. Some of the time it was me being a complete dork and occasionally because I said something funny.

I’m a pretty affectionate person and, fortunately, she was cool with me hugging her a lot. And we held hands, and we kissed a little. It was all great. I felt great then, I still do now even though the date is over because there will be others. I can’t wait until we both get more comfortable with each other. We apologized to each other a few times for our weird habits. One of hers was randomly biting my arm when I hugged her, I thought that was so freaking adorable, though, I tried to encourage it. She started fading a bit around 3 so I took her to a Starbucks to get caffeinated and we walked to Value Village to browse stuff.

I’m really looking forward to seeing her again.
