Center Star in Poetry is the Window to the Soul...

And sometimes the inspiration comes from late nights by candle lights..

“Center Star”

My words, they falter
The moon looms larger
And it is my hopes
Oh, darling, my hopes
They stand taller
All because of you

When my eyes softly shutter
And my voice is meager
An indistinguishable mutter
And darkness encloses
Rapid.Eye.Movement.
My fingers are dedicated
To tracing hearts
On these lonely sheets
I pretend they are
Your satin skin
That I’m drawing on
Drawing on
You

You are my favorite lover
Winter on every morning
With that crooked smile
Positively blooming
Radiant and true
And I find my mind
Racing toward the Sun
Before it crashes
Out of view
Because, darling, I
Am that center star
That lights the sky
As it revolves
We revolve
Oh, we revolve
Around you

I still do.
