I mentioned the three hour film by Frederick Wiseman on the National Gallery in London with no commentary or music - just soundtrack of what was going on. We are starting to watch it in chunks and it so nice to hear people talking about pictures and concentrating on them.
Well, last night,as part of the BBC4 series - BBC$ Goes Slow - there was a two hour trip along a canal with a camera at the front of the boat - and just the sounds as you went along - mainly birdsong - although they also produced captions - and superimposed archive photos too when there was something interesting. We did not watch it all since I marvelled at the football between Juventus and Real Madrid and understood why no English teams survived in the Champions’ League.
However, when it was over what a joy to just have a leisurely trip through wonderful English countryside. Away from the frenetic commentating on the football and the atmosphere of the election coverage!!!!
We once had a family holiday for a week on the Oxford Canal - which was grea - I steered and SW.. and family did the work at the locks!! When we finished the holiday we were all lacking land legs since the boats are very shallow, and we had not realised how we were rocking all the time.

This is not me!!!!!

It also rained yesterday for nearly 24 hours - and the walk was called off since it was coming down so hard - and we were supposed to walk on the beach. Hello to summer.

And out drive looks like there has been a wedding with all the confetti strewn around - it is the cherry blossom being blown a round in the wind.

So -tomorrow is the big day - I shall vote in the afternoon - and I hope all UK people with the vote will do so too. I don’t care who you vote for (actually I do, but still) just go an vote and exercise your democratic right!!!!!!!!alt text
