EDIT Ignore the first two paras - as I wrote them it was announced - Charlotte Elizabeth Diana - Excellent - keeps everyone happy!

Still waiting here for the names of the new princess - apparently the nation is waiting with bated breath according to the BBC - not me matey - just the punters who have bet on the name and hope they win some money.

I wonder if there are all kinds of discussions going on with officials etc about what be good names - maybe they really did not know what gender the baby was going to be - and had not really thought about names - I have a feeling Chardonnay is not on the list.

It keep the press etc interested - and even more chance of getting some good copy since the election is totally bogged down, and like two boxers waiting for the final bell they are just trading punches with no hope of getting a KO.

At least we have had a lovely day today - but the cherry blossom is being blown off the tress - and more rain and wind over the next few days will mean even more goes - our garden looks like the aftermath of a wedding with all the blossom on the lawn from the trees next door.

We were out at a concert last night in one of the churches here. Normally the spring concert has a range of music - but the choir who did it this year produced a kind of gospel sound - although no way they were a gospel choir - and while the message was supposed to be uplifting the quality of the music they sang was pretty mundane - and I did not really want to be preached at - even in song. All a bit disappointing - but the good thing is that I recorded three hours or so of a documentary about the National Gallery in London - no commentary, no music - just catching the activities in the gallery - Fredrick Wiseman was the director. We saw some of it when we got home and I loved it - and can’t wait just to dip in and out. BBC4 is doing this ‘no rush tv’ - taking their time over things. If only like was a bit slower.

Maybe I am getting old - but I find everyone seems to be driving too fast - and relying on their brakes - and just not taking account of conditions on the road. OK, not everyone - but a lot - taking chances - and potentially losing control. It is interesting how many one car crashes there are - people just going too fast and losing it. Actually, occasionally we have a lift to one of the walks from a member of the group - and I sit in the back pressing down on the floor - he does not seem to use his gears - just goes up to cars and brakes. What can you say though??

And just a little something
